'Pragamana 2023' The Sinhala Broadcasting Day of Vishaka Vidyalaya organized by the Sinhala Broadcasting Unit of Vishaka Vidyalaya was held on 1st September 2023 from 2.30 pm at Jeremias Dias hall. Well reputed Senior Journalist Mr. Mohan Samaranayake attended as the chief guest of the day while Mr Dilith Jayaweera, Chairman of Derena Media Network and Mr Sudarshana Gunawardena Attorney at Law and Chairman of Independent Television Network attended as the guest of honour and the special guest of honour respectively.
A number of prominent journalist and media personals too light the event with their participation as well.
In line with the media day the school media unit had organized an inter school media competition with a participation of nearly 600 students from over 54 schools all around the country. The winners of the said competitions were felicitated during the day as well.
'Pragamana 2023' can be regarded as one of the finest examples shown by a school broadcasting unit to enhance the quality of the media field in recent times.
