Cricketer to Entrepreneur
The Motivational Speech and Leadership Program was organized by the Sports Sub Committee on 18th January 2023 at Jeremias Dias Hall. Desahabandu Kumar Dharmasena, Cricketer, ICC Elite Umpire and founder of Pintanna Group of Companies was the KeyNote Speaker of this event. School Athletes above grade six participated in this program.
Avurudu Pola 2016
The annual Avurudu Pola was held on Saturday the 2nd of April 2016 at the school premises in a grand scale, offering a wide range of products and services. The proceeds from the event will be used for school development projects.

Kishani Sings for Visakha
Kishani sings for Visakha - On the lighter side , a concert by internationally famed soprano Kishani Jayasinghe, was held on May 11, 2014 at the Jeremias Dias Hall. The event was organised by the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls' Association.
Avurudu Pola 2014
The annual Avurudu Pola was held on Saturday the 5th of April 2014 at the school premises. There were a variety of trade stall for everyone and it was a great success. The proceeds from the event will be used for school development projects.
VVOGA Members Trip 2013
The eagerly awaited VVOGA Members get-together took place on Sunday the 6th of October 2013 at Naval CLub House, Uswetekeyyawa. Past Visakhians of all age groups participated for this event and it was a day filled with fun and laughter and also a day to reminisce golden memories made at Visakha.
A Celebration of Music
A Celebration of Music’, was held on Saturday, 9th June, 2012 at the Jeremias Dias Hall, Visakha Vidyalaya. The event starred the award winning choral group Revelations and featured past Visakhians Avanti Perera, Geethika Chandrasiri, Manojie Gunasekara, Samadhi Tennakoon, the Menaka Singers, Sureka Amarasinghe and the Visakha Vidyalaya Senior Choir, who enthralled the audience with their selection of classical and contemporary music.
The event was sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka Ltd. Media sponsors for the event were Maharajah Organization and Wijeya Newspapers.
Bathiya & Santhush Concert
The Concert was organized by the fund raising Subcommittee as a major fund raiser for the renovation of the Main Hall. It was held on 9th July, 2011 at the Jeremias Dias Hall.
Susan George Pulimood Memorial Oration
The event was held at the Jeremias Dias Hall, Visakha Vidyalaya on Saturday 23rd July 2011, commemorating Mrs. Susan George Pulimood, who was a Principal of Visakha Vidyalaya. This year the oration was delivered by Prof. Preethi de Silva on “Why Music Matters”.
Donation of Books
Text books required for GCE (A/L) syllabus in science, commerce, maths and accounts field, worth Rs. 40,000/- were bought from the Library Development fund of the VVOGA and donated to the Principal on 2nd August, 2011.
Shramadana to combat Dengue at Visakha Vidyalaya
A shramadana campaign was held at the school premises on 17th September, 2011 to identify possible Dengue breeding sites and clean the school environs. This was conducted in collaboration with multiple sectors, staff of the Colombo Municipal Council, Armed Forces and OGA members.
Children’s Day 2011
This day was celebrated on 1st of October 2011 with the Visakha hostellers. This colourful, enjoyable afternoon was filled with items of entertainment by the hostellers and a viewing of a children’s movie “Nanny Mcphee”.
Mrs. Rita Hemapala spoke to the girls on personal hygiene. The young Visakhians were given gifts and treated to a sumptuous dinner at the hostel. The event was organized by the VVOGA.
Sinhala Short Plays
The mini fund raising project for 2012, staging of two comedies “Golu Birinda” and “Kandoskiriyawa” by Mr. Namel Weeramuni took place at the The Punchi Theatre, Borella on 7th January 2012.
