වඩාත් ගුණාත්මකභාවයෙන් සහ දැනුමෙන් පිරිපුන් මාධ්‍යවේදීන් අනාගතය වෙනුවෙන් සන්නද්ධ කිරීමේ අරමුණින් ක්‍රියාත්මක වන විශාඛා විද්‍යාලයීය සිංහල සන්නිවේදන ඒකකය 2023 සැප්තැම්බර් පළමුවෙනිදා සන්නිවේදනයේ ප්‍රගමනය නමින් සන්නිවේදන දිනයක් පැවැත්වීමට කටයුතු යොදා තිබේ. එම දිනයට සමගාමීව අප විද්‍යාලයේ විදුහල්පතිතුමිය මනෝමි සෙනෙවිරත්න මැතිනියගේ උපදෙස් පරිදි ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සියලුම පාසල්වල ශිෂ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාවන්ට සහභාගි විය හැකි දීප ව්‍යාප්ත සන්නිවේදන තරගාවලියක් ඊයේ දිනයේදී විද්‍යාලයීය පරිශ්‍රයේදී පවත්වන ලද අතර මේ සඳහා දිවයිනේ පාසල් 53 ක් නියෝජනය කරමින් ශිෂ්‍ය ශිෂ්‍යාවන් 610 ක් සහභාගී වූ අතර මෙහි තරග විනිශ්චය කටයුතු සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා රූපවාහිනී සංස්ථාවේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් විදුලි සංස්ථාවේ , ස්වාධීන රූපවාහිනී සේවයේ, දෙරණ මාධ්‍ය ජාලයේ සහ සිරස මාධ්‍ය ජාලයේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨතම සහ ප්‍රවිණතම ජනමාධ්‍යවේදීන්ගෙන් සැදුම්ලත් විනිශ්චය මණ්ඩලයක් මගින් සිදු විය
Under the visionary leadership of Madam Principal Mrs. Manomi Senevirathne, the Sinhala & English broadcasting unit at Visakha Vidyalaya is paving the way for budding journalists to excel in the industry as skilled professionals. A significant step towards this mission was achieved on August 18, 2023, when the school hosted the All Island Broadcasting Day competitions, marking a remarkable success.
The upcoming Broadcasting Day, scheduled for September 1, 2023, is themed "Pragamana," reflecting the unit's commitment to progress and innovation. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 610 students representing 53 schools vying for excellence.
Distinguished judges from the industry, including senior members of Sri Lanka Rupavahini Cooperation, ITN, TV Derana, and Sirasa Media Network, formed the judging panel. Their expertise and guidance provided invaluable insights to the aspiring journalists, ensuring a high standard of competition.
The event not only showcased the dedication and hard work of the participants but also underscored the importance of fostering young talent in the field of journalism.
