Visakha Vidyalaya's Annual Science Day, "Oneirataxia'23," was held on the 5th of July, starting from 2 pm onwards at the Jeremias Dias Hall. The event was an awe-inspiring celebration of science, knowledge, and innovation. Under the able guidance of Madam Principal, Mrs. Manomi Senevirathna, and with the active participation of esteemed guests, dedicated teachers, and enthusiastic students, the event became a resounding success.
The chief guest of Oneirataxia'23 was Professor Rohan Munasinghe, the former head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Moratuwa. His presence added a touch of wisdom and experience to the event, inspiring the young minds present to pursue their passion for science and technology.A special invitee, Dr. Ranga Rodrigo, from the same department, graced the occasion, sharing valuable insights and experiences with the audience. His knowledge and encouragement motivated the students to delve deeper into the world of science and explore its boundless possibilities.
The highlight of the event was the insightful lecture delivered by Professor Rohan Munasinghe. His talk touched upon the significance of scientific exploration, the role of education, and the importance of nurturing young minds to become the scientists and engineers of the future.
Recognition was given to the outstanding achievers as the 2020 3A students were felicitated for their remarkable performance at the GCE A/L examination.To promote healthy competition and encourage a passion for science, a science-related drama took center stage.
Adding an element of excitement, the quiz finals kept the audience on their toes. The top two teams, Royal College and Taxila Central College, competed fiercely to claim the championship. The quiz was a testament to the participants' knowledge and problem-solving skills. In the end, Royal College emerged as the champions, receiving applause and admiration for their achievements.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants, recognizing their hard work and contributions for making Oneirataxia'23 a memorable event.
