Past and present Principals, teachers, students and parents joined in the parade which commenced from the school premises and proceeded along Havelock Road towards Thummulla Junction, along Reid Avenue, Thurstan Road and Queens Road. The procession returned to the school grounds via R A de Mel Mawatha (Duplication Road).

The Walk was inaugurated by Visakha Principal Sandamali Aviruppola and past Principals with the release of balloons to the air. Mounted Police provided security while a baby elephant which was brought to the procession was a highlight.

1st of June 2013 was a memorable day for all Visakhians where we all got together at our esteemed alma mater and enjoyed and cheered for Mother Visakha celebrating 95 years of existence and had a quality time reminiscing and sharing the past and present.

The Walk marks the school’s 95th anniversary. All proceeds of the fund raiser will be channeled towards the renovations of the school’s Jeremias Dias Hall.
