Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association organized a two day carnival - “Visakha Centenary Carnival 2017” on the 7th and 8th of April 2017 at the Thurstan Cricket Grounds, Colombo from 5.00 pm onwards till midnight.
The carnival was in aid for the school’s primary building project. In addition to the traditional food & beverage stalls, trade stalls, etc.; the carnival was enriched with activities bringing fun and joy to all age groups. The centenary carnival also presented merry-go-rounds, ferris wheel, pendulum rides and water rides for the crowd to enjoy.
A carnival is never a carnival without good music. Wayo performed on 7th April keeping the crowd’s ears and toes busy. Marians presented a lively dramatic performance on the 8th with its great hits of all times favourites.
Visakha Centenary Carnival was; without any doubt; another remarkable centenary commemorating event which was concluded as one of the most successful events in Visakha history.
