Masters Athletic Association of Sri Lanka has selected Mrs. Janaki Fernando nee Jayawickrama, a past Visakhian, to represent the country at the World Masters Athletic Championships 2016. It will be held in Perth, Australia from 26th October to 6th November.
She has demonstrated excellent performance at the ‘Masters Athletics Open Championship 2015' which was held in India where she has bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in Javelin Throw, Shot Put and Discus Throw respectively. She has also secured the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2016 which was held in Singapore in May.
Let us wish her all the very best to perform well and make the country and mother Visakha proud at the World Masters Athletic Championships 2016!
