The Esala Sil Program which is organized annually by the Religious Sub Committee of the Visakha Vidyalaya Old Girls’ Association (VVOGA) was held on 19th July at the Visakha Bo Maluwa with the participation of many members of Visakha family including the principals & teachers (both past and present) and old Visakhians. A number of reverend Buddhist clergies participated in the event where dhamma sermons were conducted by Ven. Makulewe Sudassana thero, Ven. Siyambalangoda Daminda thero, Ven. Diyathalawe Piyadassi thero, Ven. Urupelelelle Hemarama thero, Ven. Welimada Saddaseela thero, Panadure Pasanna thero, Ven. Weligepola Seelawansa thero and Ven. Kotapola Amarakiththi thero. A meditation program was conducted by Mr. Kithsiri Samarasinghe who is attached to the University of Moratuwa as a lecturer.
The program also included Buddha Puja in the morning and Bodhi Puja in the evening. The program concluded as one of the successful religious events.
