In commemorating our school founder, Mrs. Jeremias Dias, The annual overnight Pirith ceremony was held on 25th March followed by an alms giving on 26th of March to the priests of Vajiraramaya Temple, Bambalapitiya.
It was held at the school Jeremias Dias main hall with the participation of the Principal Mrs. Sandamali Aviruppola, deputy principals, teachers, past principals, past teachers, School development society, old girls, students and parents.
This noble lady did a yeoman service to the nation by founding Visakha Vidyalaya in an era when Buddhist girls’ education was not given priority.
Today her visionary dream is fulfilled beyond expectations and she could be happy as Visakhians are shining in each and every field preserving their true identity and making our country proud and significant in the globe.
