Visakha Vidyalaya emerged victorious in the under 19 category of the National Schools Games Table Tennis Championship that was held on 1st and 2nd October 2016 at the indoor sports complex of St. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia. National Schools Games Table Tennis Championship organized by the Ministry of Education for the age categories of ‘Under 15’ and ‘Under 19’ in both girls and boys saw participation of teams from around the country.
Visakha Vidyalaya ‘Under 19’ team led by Hansani Piumila who captains the junior national team defeated Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda in the final tie taking home the National School Games Table Tennis Championship.
Hansani Piumila was also adjudged the best player in girls’ category of the tournament.
