Visakha Vidyalaya outclassed the Navy Women’s team to take home the Women’s Water Polo National title at the Sri Lanka National Women’s Water Polo Championship 2016 held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool Complex recently.
It was a close call for the Visakhians where they stunned the Navy Women’s team to win the final for 4-3. The outstanding performance of the Visakhians in the fourth quarter with two goals coming from the efforts of Nadishka Senanayake and Tusari Ekanayake wrapped the game sealing the title for the girls in blue and gold. Apart from Nadishka and Tusari; Shaleena Peiris also scored goals paving the way for a solid victory for Visakha.
With this win; Visakha finishes its 2016 season being victorious retaining the M. N. Edussooriya trophy and the Water Polo Nationals title with them.
